10:30am-1pm: 9 teams compete in 9 events (rubber chicken toss!) at the 2nd annual punk rope games. free iced coffee and coconut water for all. mccarren park, free to watch. awards ceremony + bbq w. $1 dogs and $2 burgers (veggie + meatie) at the gibson. >>

10am-5pm: chat with the designers and try out uhuru design's award-winning, $7,200 'cyclone lounger,' inspired by coney's cyclone roller coaster and made from recycled boardwalk wood, at the coney island history project's open house. free. >>

12-6pm: show off your wheels at city reliquary's 6th annual bike fetish day block party. bbq, bmx tricks, vendors, music, prizes (best mutant bike!), more. afterparty 6-10pm. for more two-wheelin' action, head to park slope's old stone house for an outdoor screening of bike-related short films, $5 suggested donation.

1-7pm: 6,000+ dancers of every imaginable style take over broadway, university and st. marks place for the 3rd annual nyc dance parade. culminates at tompkins square park for performances, lessons, more. free. >>

2pm: celebrate 3rd ward's 4th birthday with a bbq, live music, arts + crafts, workshops, synchronized cycling, more! >>

4pm-2am: littlefield turn's 1, parties with a full day of karaoke: yacht rock, soft rock and cow bell-style. free. >>

8pm (thru 9/18): the coney island film society's 'sci-fi summer' weekly screening series continues with john carpenter's the thing (1982). free popcorn. coney island museum, $5 >>

9pm (ends tonight): anya sapozhnikova's 'horror show' is 'circus meets ballet meets nightmare, built out of darkness, sex and hot jazz.' sold! house of yes, $20. >>

10pm-4am: donate a gently used paperback dictionary or thesaurus, get a free drink at the desk set's dance party/benefit for books through bars. plus, prizes and raffles. enids (greenpoint), free. >>

11pm-4am: lcd soundsystem's shows at terminal 5 are sold out, but you can still party with him and his friends when they spin at the highline ballroom afterparty. $5 adv, $8 door. >>
