On Tuesday, June 3 at 7 PM, Orchestra of St. Luke’s opens its annual Bach Festival at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall with a glowing performance of Baroque sacred works, conducted by Lionel Meunier, “a real star, with a soaring vision” (BBC Music Magazine). The evening features Bach’s transcendent reimagining of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater—alongside Vivaldi’s luminous motets. Orchestra of St. Luke’s is joined by soprano Gemma Nha, praised for her “focused and luminous sound” (Parterre), and countertenor Reginald Mobley, “one of the finest countertenors working today” (Chicago Reader).
